Portsmouth should look to sign this creative midfielder

Portsmouth have started the new League One campaign by picking up 5 points from a possible 12, and are unbeaten in the last two games.

The south coast outfit got promoted to League One last season after winning the League Two title on the final day of the season, when they beat Cheltenham Town 6-1 and other results went there way to ensure they would be crowned champions.

After winning the league title, manager Paul Cook left the club to join Wigan Athletic and Pompey turned to the experienced Kenny Jackett to take over at Fratton Park.

Jackett has begun the process of stamping his own authority on the team as he has made no fewer than 5 new signings so far this summer, but with little over 24 hours to go in the transfer window rumours circulating are that Portsmouth are trying to off load a couple of players and bring in new players.

With this is mind the club should turn to Walsall creative midfielder Erhun Oztumer.

Erhun Oztumer –  The creative midfielder joined the Saddlers in 2016, and was terrific last season for them as he scored 15 goals and provided 7 goals for his team in all competitions.

Oztumer is a versatile player, as he can play either up top as a striker or just behind in the number 10 role. This versatility along with his goal scoring and assisting qualities, shows that he would be a terrific signing, and with Portsmouth only managing 4 goals so far this term his arrival could certainly propel the club up the table.

Portsmouth fans would you like to see Oztumer join your club? Would he be the perfect fit in the clubs midfield? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section…
