Mark Warburton should look to sign this former Premier League defender
Nottingham Forest have been in good form at the start of the Championship season, winning 3 out of their first 5 games.
After a summer which saw no fewer than 12 new faces arrive at the football club, it is clear to see that manager Mark Warburton wanted to put his own stamp on the team and bring in players that would benefit his style of play.
So far picking up 9 out of a possible 15 points, the players have bought into the managers way of playing and are proving to be a success on the pitch, but one side of the game which is letting the club down is defensively as they have leaked 8 goals already this term.
Having the worst defensive record out of the top 6 clubs, saw Warburton head into the loan market and sign Adam Federici from AFC Bournemouth on deadline day, to help bolster the ranks and bring in a goalkeeper who knows the league having played at Championship level with Reading.
The club have plenty of choices within their defensive ranks as they have the likes of Jack Hobbs, Matt Mills and Michael Mancienne available for selection at centre half, but after conceding an alarming number of goals early on in the season the club should turn to the experienced Kolo Toure.
Kolo Toure – The former Ivory Coast international who has won 2 Premier League trophies and 4 FA Cups in his career, was released by Celtic at the end of last season after not being offered a new contract, leaving himself looking for a new club.
Having played for Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool, Toure certainly knows the English game well and from his career accolades shows he has had success in the Premier League and also the Scottish Premier League at Celtic.
This winning mentality and vast of amount of experience could be what Nottingham Forest need to make sure they gain at least a play-off spot this season and also to helped them improve defensively.
