In arguably the biggest fixture in England this weekend we see Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City host Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool. The match kicks off at 12:30 on Saturday and The Etihad Stadium is expected to be a sell out.
Both teams have had good starts to the season as they are both sitting on seven points after two wins and a draw. Manchester City’s last game ended in a 2-1 victory away at Bournemouth after former Liverpool man Raheem Sterling scored the winner but was then sent off for his celebration ruling him out of the clash against his former club. Liverpool’s last result saw them thrash rivals Arsenal 4-0 at Anfield which sent shockwaves around England. Klopp could hand a debut to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after his thirty five million pound move from Arsenal.
Manchester City- For Manchester City it can only be one man Sergio Aguero. He loves a goal against Liverpool and has scored in every game he played against them at The Etihad. Aguero must be a shoe in to start the game seeing as Sterling is banned and Jesus hasn’t scored yet this season. Should Aguero score he will become the Premier League’s highest non-European goalscorer, overtaking Dwight Yorke’s record of 123 goals.
Liverpool- Liverpools danger player is surely Sadio Mane. The Senegalese international will be a dangerous threat and already has three goals this season. With Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany out injured they could be vulnerable and Mane is the man to take advantage. The liverpool man also made it into our Best Premier League XI.
Liverpool are yet to lose to Manchester City under Jurgen Klopp winning three games and drawing the other one but I think it’s their turn to lose. I think City have to much depth and will inevitably create chances. The game for me ends 2-0 to Manchester City.
