Arsenal have had a troubled start to their Premier League campaign and it could get worse in January if want away forward Alexis Sanchez gets hi move away from the club. But could Arsenal be about to land a midfielder that they have been after for years?
The North London club have been put on red alert after PSG man Julian Draxler has reportedly told the french giants that he wants to leave the club. The Germany international only moved to the Ligue 1 side in January after joining from Wolfsburg for £35.5million.
However, the attacking midfielder fears first team opportunities will be limited going forward and, according to Don Balon, he wants to leave.
PSG signed Kylian Mbappe and Neymar as part of their summer spending spree and Draxler is unwilling to sit on the bench while they shine.
The German’s decision to seek a move away will certainly be of interest to Arsenal, who are long-term admirers of the 23-year-old. The Gunners have tracked Draxler since his days at Schalke and could finally be about to get their man.
The Dutchman would certainly be of use to Arsenal as they need to replace the injury prone Santi Carzola who missed the whole of last season. Arsenal’s midfield is a tricky one and the capture of Draxler may mean more departures from The Emirates stadium but is that a good thing?
