Who Manchester United should sign this January

As the January transfer window opens, Manchester United will look to buy to try and close the gap on Manchester City as much as possible and also to improve the squad for next season. So, which players could be likely to be heading to Old Trafford?

  1. Toni Kroos

Toni Kroos has been linked with a move to Old Trafford with Real Madrid wanting to get rid of the German international in order to get some money for an audacious bid for former Barcelona star, Neymar. Kroos could also massively help out United’s midfield with Pogba already being injured twice this season and Fellaini looking to be on his way out, refusing to sign a contract extension.

2. Alex Sandro

The left-back position is one that José Mourinho really needs to sort out, with Luke Shaw being out of favour with the Portuguese manager and Ashley Young not being a natural number three. Sandro has been linked with the Red Devils, but Juventus have said that for him, they must pay £61m, a world record for a full-back. Mourinho’s former club Chelsea have also been linked with the Brazilian.

3. Riyad Mahrez

Mahrez, as well reported, wants to leave Leicester City, while another right midfielder at Manchester United, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is not being played and is being linked with a move away from Old Trafford. Mahrez would be an ideal replacement for Mkhitaryan as he is capable of fitting in any team and has been playing magnificently for the last few seasons at the very top level.
