Hot on the heels of the disappointment of losing at home in League One to Bristol Rovers, AFC Wimbledon have a great opportunity to make amends in their Papa Johns Trophy match at Plough Lane tonight against Arsenal U21
Wimbledon are expected. as per competition rules to make changes to the team tonight, with several fringe players, looking to be given an opportunity, among those is highly rated Left Back Paul Osew who hasn’t featured as much recently, given the summer loan signing of Steve Seddon and Nest Guiness Walker as the two Left backs at the club
That said, tonight promises to be a good opportunity, against an Arsenal U21 side who play attacking football on the front foot, together with an ability to mix up their play and, who, in recent matches in this competition against other teams, shown they are capable of scoring goals
Under Covid Restrictions and also because the club don’t yet have the formal handover of the stadium from Buckingham contractors completed yet( it is expected tomorrow) there will be no spectators in the ground.
With Wembley, edging ever closer, the team that plays tonight has its own opportunity, to create a unique and wanted bit of history, by securing place in the last 16 of the competiton.
Either way it promises to be a good, entertaining game
